Luxury Villa Holidays

A private villa is the hotel reimagined - your own pool, your own chef, your own hours. We curate the world's finest private residences and ensure every detail is in place before you arrive.

The Villa Philosophy

Home away from home only infinitely better

A hotel, however extraordinary, is a shared space. The lobby belongs to other guests. The restaurant has seatings. The pool is communal. A private villa inverts every one of these constraints. The pool is yours at midnight if you want it. Breakfast arrives when you're ready - not when the kitchen opens. The sitting room, the kitchen garden, the shaded terrace overlooking the sea - all of it is yours for the duration of the stay, and the staff is there to anticipate your preferences rather than manage a hundred other requests simultaneously.

The best private villas are not simply large houses. They are residences designed with the same intention as the world's finest hotels - furnished by designers who understand proportion and light, equipped with kitchens that a professional chef can work in seriously, set in gardens that have been cultivated over decades, and positioned to command the view that no neighboring development will ever interrupt. Finding these properties - and distinguishing them from the many that are marketed as luxury but deliver mediocrity - requires the kind of knowledge that only comes from visiting, vetting, and returning again and again.

At Parrillo Luxury Travel, we have developed personal relationships with villa managers, private estates, and curated rental collections across the Mediterranean, Caribbean, and beyond. We inspect the properties we recommend. We know which ones photograph better than they live, and which ones are more extraordinary than any photograph suggests. When we match you with a villa, we do so with the confidence that comes from having seen it firsthand - and from knowing the team who will be looking after you there.

Beyond the villa itself, we design the surrounding experience: the private chef briefed on your dietary preferences, the driver who knows the local roads, the restaurant reservations in the towns nearby, the day trips and private excursions that give texture to what might otherwise be days of simply being in a beautiful place. We believe that a villa holiday should feel spacious - like having more time than you know what to do with - while also having every option ready if you choose to explore.

Villa Destinations

Where in the world would you like to stay?

The finest private villas exist in every corner of the world - each shaped by its landscape, its culture, and the particular kind of luxury it offers.

Mediterranean & Amalfi

The Mediterranean's villa tradition stretches back centuries, and the finest estates in Tuscany, the Amalfi Coast, the Greek Islands, and the South of France reflect that heritage. A converted Tuscan farmhouse with vineyards, a cliffside residence above Positano with a private lift to the sea, a whitewashed retreat on a Cycladic hillside, a Provençal bastide with lavender fields extending to the horizon - these are properties with a sense of place that no hotel can manufacture. We know the specific villas that justify the investment and the ones whose photographs exaggerate the reality, and we curate accordingly.

Caribbean & St. Barths

The Caribbean's villa market reaches its most refined expression in St. Barths, Mustique, and Anguilla - islands where the accommodation options are dominated by private estates rather than large hotel complexes. A hilltop villa in St. Barths with a view across the harbor to the yachts below, a beachfront estate in Anguilla with 200 feet of private sand, a compound on Mustique available exclusively through the island's villa rental program - these are the properties that the Caribbean's most discerning visitors return to year after year. We have access to residences that are not publicly listed and maintain relationships with the villa managers who make each stay exceptional.

Bali & Southeast Asia

Bali's private villa culture has produced some of the world's most architecturally distinctive and spiritually resonant retreats - open-air pavilions set within walled compounds, infinity pools that appear to pour into the rice terrace below, interiors furnished with Javanese antiques and local textile art. Beyond Bali, the villa tradition extends through Sri Lanka's colonial bungalows, Thailand's hilltop retreats, and the private island residences of the Maldives. The staff-to-guest ratios in Southeast Asian villas are characteristically generous, and the level of personalized attention - from the cook who prepares traditional dishes to the butler who arranges temple visits at dawn - is simply unmatched anywhere else in the world.

Private Island & Estate Escapes

At the outer edge of the villa category lies the private island - a self-contained world where the nearest neighbor may be miles away and the staff-to-guest ratio approaches two to one. Necker Island, Musha Cay, North Island in the Seychelles - these are the properties that redefine the concept of privacy. We also work with estate properties on mainland destinations: a historic Moroccan riad taken over exclusively for a family gathering, a Château in Burgundy reserved for a week of wine harvest celebrations, a remote highland lodge in Scotland booked in full for a sporting retreat. For milestone occasions and family reunions, an exclusive estate buy-out creates the setting and the privacy that no hotel can provide.

Villa Collections

The villa resources we trust

We work with a curated network of villa specialists, private collections, and estate managers - supplementing our own firsthand knowledge with the deepest local expertise in each market.

01

Mediterranean Estates

Our Mediterranean villa relationships include private collections in Tuscany, the Amalfi Coast, Capri, Sicily, the French Riviera, Mallorca, and the Greek Islands. We focus on properties that have established, professional management teams - where the housekeeper has been in place for years, the chef knows the local producers, and the property is maintained to the standard its photographs suggest. Many of the estates we recommend most frequently are available only through direct relationships and are not listed on general rental platforms.

02

Caribbean & Atlantic Islands

The Caribbean's premium villa market is concentrated in St. Barths, Mustique, Anguilla, and the British Virgin Islands. We have deep knowledge of each island's villa inventory and know which properties occupy the prime positions, which offer genuine beach access, and which are managed by teams that deliver the level of service the price point demands. We also work with villa specialists in Portugal's Alentejo, the Azores, and Madeira for clients looking for Atlantic alternatives to the Mediterranean.

03

Asian Retreat Specialists

Across Bali, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and the Indian Ocean islands, we work with specialists who understand that a villa in Southeast Asia is not simply a large house - it is an integrated hospitality experience with a full staff, curated cultural programming, and culinary teams who can produce both local cuisine and international menus on request. We vet these properties specifically for service quality, staff stability, and the authenticity of the cultural connections they offer, rather than simply the size of the pool or the luxury of the furnishings.

04

Private Islands & Exclusive Buyouts

Private island rentals and exclusive estate buyouts represent a distinct category requiring specialist knowledge and significant lead time. We have access to private islands in the Caribbean, Indian Ocean, and Pacific through our relationships with the companies that manage them, and we coordinate exclusive takeovers of Château, riad, and estate properties for multi-family gatherings and corporate retreats. These bookings require 6-12 months of advance planning and benefit enormously from our experience coordinating the layered logistics of a multi-day exclusive event in a remote or private setting.

Plan Your Villa Stay

Staffing & Services

The best private villas come with a resident staff that typically includes a housekeeper, a cook or chef, a garden team, and, at larger properties, a villa manager who acts as a concierge throughout your stay. We brief the staff on your preferences before arrival - dietary needs, preferred breakfast times, any special occasions during the stay - and coordinate any additional services you require, from private yoga instructors to in-villa massage therapists. The aim is that you arrive to a property that already knows you, so you can settle in immediately rather than spending the first day orienting the team.

What's Typically Included

Villa rental rates cover exclusive use of the property and its grounds, the resident staff's services, and in most cases, utilities, pool maintenance, and basic amenities. Food and beverage costs - whether the chef shops at the local market for dinner ingredients or the villa stocks a wine cellar to your specification - are typically charged separately and settled at the end of the stay. We provide a detailed breakdown of all expected costs before booking, including any security deposits, tourist taxes, or local fees that may apply at the destination.

Lead Time & Booking

The finest villas in peak locations - particularly in St. Barths during Christmas-New Year, Tuscany in July and August, and the Greek Islands in late June through August - are reserved 6-12 months in advance. We recommend beginning the search as early as possible for these windows. For shoulder-season travel and less competitive markets, three to four months typically provides adequate choice. We maintain ongoing relationships with villa managers who alert us to cancellations, which occasionally creates exceptional last-minute opportunities in the most sought-after properties.

Investment

Private villa rental rates vary enormously by location, property size, and season. A three-bedroom villa in a sought-after Mediterranean or Caribbean location typically starts at $5,000-$10,000 per week in shoulder season and rises considerably during peak periods. Properties with six or more bedrooms, exceptional settings, or private island configurations commonly run $30,000-$100,000 per week and above. For the right group - particularly families or multi-couple gatherings where hotel rooms would be scattered - a villa frequently represents comparable or better value while delivering a fundamentally superior experience.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions about villa holidays

How do you vet the villas you recommend?

We only recommend properties we or our trusted partners have personally visited. We inspect the property with an eye for the details that don't show in photographs - the condition of the outdoor spaces, the quality of the kitchen equipment, the standard of the bedding and bathroom finishes, and the responsiveness and professionalism of the on-site team. We also look carefully at the immediate neighborhood: the villa that appears isolated in a marketing brochure is sometimes steps from a busy road, and only a site visit reveals that. Our recommendations are built on firsthand knowledge, not on an inventory database.

Can the villa chef accommodate our dietary needs?

Absolutely. Before arrival, we brief the villa team on all dietary requirements, preferences, and any special requests. An experienced villa chef is accustomed to working with guests who have complex or varied dietary needs - vegan menus, gluten-free requirements, severe allergies, or simply strong preferences for certain cuisines. We also brief the chef on any celebratory occasions during the stay so that a birthday dinner or anniversary evening can be prepared thoughtfully. If you have a particular wine or spirit preference, we arrange for the property to be stocked before you arrive.

Is a villa appropriate for young children?

Private villas are often cited by parents as the best possible travel format for young children. The enclosed compound or garden means children can move freely without the constant vigilance required in a hotel or city environment. A resident housekeeper or nanny can be arranged. Meals happen at your pace rather than within a restaurant's service window. And the pool, often just steps from the living room, becomes a destination in itself. We select villas with appropriate child safety features - pool fencing, shallow areas, secure garden perimeters - and can arrange additional childcare staff for families who want it.

What happens if something goes wrong with the property?

Our relationships with villa managers and collections mean you always have a direct point of contact if anything requires attention during your stay. Beyond that, we remain available throughout your trip - if an issue arises that the on-site team can't resolve, we engage on your behalf to ensure it is addressed promptly. We select properties managed by professionals who take their responsibilities seriously, and in our experience, issues are rare. When they do occur, they are resolved quickly because we've established the relationship that makes that possible.

Can we arrange activities and excursions from the villa?

Yes - and this is an area where our planning makes a significant difference. We pre-book private guides, arrange boat charters and yacht day trips, secure restaurant reservations in the towns and cities nearby, and organize cooking classes, wine tastings, and cultural visits that give the stay texture beyond the villa itself. The villa is the base; the itinerary we design around it creates the full experience. We work with the villa manager as a local resource and supplement that with our own contacts on the ground.

Can you arrange for the villa to be provisioned before we arrive?

Yes - and we consider this a standard part of the planning process. We arrange for the kitchen to be stocked with your preferred breakfast items, coffee, wines, spirits, and any specific ingredients you've requested. For clients arriving late in the evening, we arrange for a chef-prepared welcome dinner to be ready on arrival. The goal is that you walk through the door and feel immediately settled - not as though you need to spend the first morning shopping or explaining your preferences.
